Annual Softball Game
 vs.  LACYD SFVYD

For the last six years, the Los Angeles County Young Democrats have played our neighbors to the north, the San Fernando Valley Young Democrats, in a friendly (but usually competitive) game of softball. This year, the annual softball game will also serve as the kickoff event for the Summer LACYD Voter Registration Drive!
Please join us for a fun day. Softball-players and spectators are all welcome!
In addition to hosting a family-friendly picnic and softball game, where you will be able to meet your fellow young Democrats (as well as a variety of elected officials and candidates), we will be handing out voter registration cards to all LACYD members in attendance. After going out into their neighborhoods to register new voters, LACYD members will be able to return completed cards for a free ticket to LACYD’s night at the ballpark in mid-July (information about the game will be available soon).

LACYD-Endorsed Candidates Triumph in June 5 Primary Elections
38 of 40 LACYD-Backed Candidates Qualify for Runoff Elections
After hosting a series of four regional endorsement meetings to issue endorsements in more than 40 Los Angeles County-area races, the membership of the Los Angeles County Young Democrats voted to back a series of excellent candidates in the June 5 Statewide Primary Election.
Voters throughout the County followed LACYD’s lead, and a staggering 95% of the candidates endorsed by LACYD qualified for the November 6 runoff.

I’m proud of President Obama’s historic announcement ending the deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children and providing them a method to apply for a permit to work.
Finally, these young people can stop living in the shadows and can now pursue the American Dream – a dream they grew up believing in and aspiring to achieve.
